New York, N.Y. - Senior Diego Mercado scored the Hawks lone goal of the game, lifting his team past the Dolphins of Staten Island on Saturday, October 5th.  With the win, the Hawks improve to 2-10, 2-2 CUNYAC while the Dolphins drop to 4-9-1, 2-2 CUNYAC.

After a scoreless first half, the Hawks were out-shot 9-3 going into the half.  Goalkeeper Emmanuel Aprilakis had six saves in the first half alone. 

The second half still deemed as a back and fourth affair, until Mercado was able to send a kick from about 20 yards out, sailing past CSI's goalkeeper, making the score 1-0 with eight minutes left in regular play.  The Dolphins were unable to get past the Hawks defensively, giving the Hawks their second win of the season.

Aprilakis finished the game with 10 saves, while Jose Gallardo-Alzate finished with two shots on goal.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, October 9th when they travel to Jamaica, NY to take on the Cardinals of York College.  The game is set for a 4:00pm start.
