Swimming Defeats Lehman, 134-88


Bronx, N.Y – The women's swimming team defeated the Lightning of Lehman College on Friday, November 22nd, 134-88. With the win, the Hawks improve to 2-1, while also grabbing their first conference win of the season.

The 200 MR team got things going for the Hawks as Cryzl Goco, Courtney McEvoy Lee, Niky Wu, and Carla Canning placed first with a time of 2:08.12.

Veteran Charlotte Collazo placed 1st in the 50 free with a time of 27.92, and also took first in the 100 free with a time of 1:00.37. Goco also placed 1st in the 100 back with a time of 1:11.22.

Freshman Amanda Iken placed first in the 1000 FR with a time of 12:57.32 while Paulina Backiel placed 3rd with a time of 14:06.51. Rookie Emily DiPaola placed first in the 200 free with a time of 2:21.02, and also took 1st in the 500 free with a time of 6:25.07.

The Hawks are back in the pool on Monday, November 25th when they host Queens College.
