New York, N.Y. - The women's volleyball team traveled downtown to rival school Baruch College to compete in the Baruch Invitational on Saturday, September 28th. The Hawks competed against the Ospreys of Richard Stockton and the Roadrunners of Ramapo. Hunter was victorious in defeating the Roadrunners, beating them 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 16-25, 25-19) but fell to the Ospreys 1-3 ( 25-27, 25-13, 18-25, 14-25). After the tournament, the Hawks record is now 7-7.
Against Ramapo, the Hawks were led by
Rebecca Schell, who had nine kills, six assists, and three blocks.
Karolina Gajda recorded eight kills, two assists, and six digs while
Stephanie Taibe chipped in with seven kills and six digs. Libero
Alisa Jaganjac had 18 digs for the game while setter
Kristine Ciurcina had a game high of 22 assists.
Taylor Kordich added nine digs while
Brianna O'Hagan had eight.
The Roadrunners where led by Rachel Selmore who had a game high of 19 kills, 13 digs, and three blocks, but it was not enought to overcome the Hawks.
Against Richard Stockton, the Ospreys deemed to strong for Hunter, as they recorded a team total of 52 kills comparded to the Hawks 35.

Lucia Stosic led the team with nine kills, six digs, and four blocks while Gajda and Taibe each added seven kills a piece. Ciurcina and Kordich had 16 and 14 assists, respectively. O'Hagan chipped in with three kills and eight digs while Kordich and Gajda also recorded eight kills.
Stockton was led by Nicole Serekian who had a game high of 19 kills and 14 digs while teammate Lindsay Schuele had 11 kills and six digs.
Stosic was the lone Hawk that was named to the All-Tournament team.
