NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter women's swimming team continued their hot start to the season with a 61-29 victory over CUNYAC foe Brooklyn College. This is the Hawks fifth win in a row to start the season and they also are 2-0 in CUNYAC play.
Jessica Lou and
Christina Valente both posted lifetime bests in the 1000 freestyle, as they finished first and second, respectively.
Charlotte Collazo also swam a lifetime best in the 200 freestyle as did
Christina Chu in the 50 freestyle.
In the 200 IM,
Kelly Xue passed her teammate and cousin
Vanessa Xue in the final 50 meters to secure the victory. Both Hawk swimmers posted lifetime bests. Also swimming in the race was Vanessa's sister.
Lindsey Pero and
Shannon Lyver went first and second in the 100 free, with Lyver swimming a season best.

Carla Canning once again broke her own 100 breaststroke
record en route to victory, while
Emily DiPaola took second place with her season best time.
"This is a team that has been pushing themselves to the max since the first day of practice," said co-head coach
Scott Bintner. "Coach Netti and I have got the team to focus on preparing mentally for meet in advance, so we can just pump them up and watch them go. And so far they have not disappointed."
The Hawks look to extend their winning streak to six on Tuesday December 9 when they host Lehman College.
