BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY – The Hunter Hawks took on #6 Montclair State Wednesday afternoon in the 2014 home opener. The Red Hawks came away with an 8-0 victory dropping the Hawks to 0-3 on the young season.
"We are still trying to find ourselves," said head coach
John Sanchez. "They are a very powerful team and we have to continue to work hard and improve in order to get to their level."
The Red Hawks led 5-0 at halftime with two goals coming from Kyle Goodwin and Brian Cullen; the 5
th Montclair goal came from Lucas Terci. In the 2
nd half the Red Hawks would get three more from Alain Brown, Jesse Shea and Pascal Dylewicz.
The Hawks were tested by 21 shots in the first half as the Red Hawks took advantage of the high back line of Hunter. The Red Hawks were whistled seven times for offside.
The Hawks return to action Saturday when they travel to New Jersey to take on Centenary College at 1pm.
