New York, NY -  The women's tennis team moved closer to .500 after shutting out the Beavers of CCNY on Friday in a CUNYAC matchup. The Hawks swept both singles and doubles to take a dominating 9-0 victory. With the win they move to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in CUNYAC play.

Olivia Funk teamed with Janani Bavanandon at top doubles and blanked their counterparts, 8-0. Funk also shut out Charlotte Dulay 6-0, 6-0 at top singles while Bavanandon defeated her counterpart at second singles, 6-0, 6-2. Paulina Szedga and Sara Beck also made quick work of their opponents at doubles, 8-1 and third and fourth singles respectively with Szegda winning 6-0, 6-1 and Beck being pushed to three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 10-4 but prevailing.

Lastly, Catherine Ng took care of business at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1 while her doubles partner, Pauline McGlone won 6-1, 6-0 in her singles competition. The duo took third singles 8-1.

The Hawks are back in action on Monday, October 12 when they take on the Bearcats of Baruch College at noon.
