Jamaica, NY - Hunter College women's swimming opened up the 2015-16 campaign with a victory over CUNYAC opponent York College with a score of 53-50.
The Hawks had several swimmers earn personal bests as
Amanda Iken opened up the meet with a win in the 1,000 yd. freestyle with a time of 12:50.38.
Christina Fedorov crushed the competition in the 50 yd. freestyle, taking first with a time of 27.70, while
Madeline Hew took first in the 100 yd. backstroke, posting a time of 1:08.29.
The 200-yard medley race was a highlight of the day for the Hawks as they took first with a time of 2:01.67. The relay team consisted of
Kelly Xue,
Carla Canning,
Alexandra Rubiano and
Lindsey Pero.
The team will return to action on Nov. 13 when they face St. Joseph's LI at 6 p.m.
