Full ResultsNew York, NY - The Hunter swim team continued their winning ways and extended their win streatk to seven after a 61-34 win over CUNYAC rival, the College of Staten Island. The Hawks had six individual event winners and won one relay as they remain a perfect 7-0 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC action.
Madeline Hew,
Carla Canning,
Alexandra Rubiano and
Lindsey Pero combine for a win by over eight seconds in the 200 yard medley relay with a mark of 1:59.07 to start the meet.
Jessica Lou won the 200 yard freestyle in 2:15.3 for the Hawks first individual event victory.
Amanda Iken followed suit as she was first in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:29.34, winning by nearly 19 seconds, and then double backed in the 1000 yard freestyle with a second place showing in 12:52.63
Lindsey Pero and Rubiano each dominated their respective events by a significant margin of victory. Pero took top honors in the 100 yard butterfly by over 15 seconds with a mark of 1:04.59 while Rubiano outswam the field in the 200 yard IM by over 11 seconds and finishing in 2:22.49.
The final two event winners were Hew and Canning. Hew was first in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:07.33 while Canning earned her victory in the 100 yard backstroke after a performance of 1:11.39.
Closing out the meet, the quartet of
Christina Fedorov,
Vivian Chen, Hew and Lou were edged by less than two seconds in the 200 yard freestyle after posting a time of 1:51.26.
Hunter returns to action on January 5, 2016 when they visit the Mariners of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 6pm.
