New York, NY - Hunter College soccer got a win against Cairn University on Saturday, defeating the Highlanders with a score of 3-0.
The team now boasts a overall record of 3-4 before starting conference play this week.
The Hawks struck almost immediately, scoring a goal off a corner kick just two minutes into the game when
Aiden Tucker converted off a corner from the left side of the goal to give Hunter a 1-0 lead.
The Hawks recorded seven more shots in the first half from Patrik Gurung, Aristo Ioannidis,
Michael Merlo, Nico Serna,
Kamal Chhetri and Tucker, but continued to lead by just one goal after the first half.
Eight minutes into the second half, Hunter scored again as Tucker notched his second goal of the game with a header from
Diego Cisneros to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Cisneros got a goal of his own to close out the game 15 minutes later after a throw in on the right side of the field and secure Hunter's 3-0 win over the Highlanders.

The soccer team will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 when they begin conference play again John Jay College at 12 p.m.
