BOX SCORE New York, NY - Hunter College men's soccer defeated City College of New York on Saturday afternoon in a tightly contested match up that the Hawks eventually won, 2-1.
The Hawks improve to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
The squad also celebrated Hunter men's soccer alumni by inviting them to the game and spending time with them. Several former players turned up, cheering on the Hawks in the exciting victory.
The Beavers got the first goal of the game, converting on a penalty kick to to go up 1-0 just 30 minutes into the game. The Purple and Gold tied it up nine minutes later as

Jesus Patino Muniz in the center of the box, who then kicked the ball past the goalkeeper.Â
After halftime the Hawks scored again at the 56:34 minute mark to take the lead. After being tied up in the box with several CCNY player,
Mostafa Mosbah got control of the ball long enough to quickly find the back of the net.Â
Hunter held off the Beavers from scoring again, winning the game 2-1.
The team returns to action on Oct. 5 when they travel to College of Staten Island.
