Swimming Defeats Queens With a Score of 120-117

Hawks Defeat Division II Opponent

Queens, NY - Hunter College women's swimming got a huge win on Tuesday night by defeating NCAA Division II opponent Queens College in a close meet that ended with a score of 120-117.

The Hawks started the meet off with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as the team of Kelly Xue, Carla Canning, Lindsey Pero and Alexandra Rubiano brought home first place with a time of 2:02.75.

Irene Collins led the team by placing first in the 1000 yard freestyle before posting another first-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle.

Sera Knobler took first for Hunter in the 200 yard freestyle, while Rubiano followed that up with a first-place swim in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.38. 

Carla Canning rounded out Hunter's victory by taking first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.30.

The Hawks return to action on Nov. 29 when they host Lehman College at 6 p.m.
