Swimming Wins Second-Straight in Victory Over Lehman

Hawks Win 51-31

New York, NY - Hunter College women's swimming got their second-straight win on Tuesday night, defeating Lehman College with a score of 51-31.

With the win, the Hawks are 3-1 overall and undefeated in CUNYAC play.

The Purple and Gold started it off by scoring seven points with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Julia Mamone, Emily DiPaola, Lindsey Pero and Hanaa Laccab posted a time of 2:07.33 for a first-place finish.

Irene Collins then took first in the 1000 yard freestyle, while Christina Valente took second and earned a new personal best of 13:17.26. Collins followed that up with another first-place finish, posting a time of 1:15.32 in the 100 yard backstroke.

Alexandra Rubiano placed first in the 50 yard freestyle and then got another win by taking first in the 100 yard butterfly. 

Sera Knobler, Mamone and Pero finished it off for the Hawks, each taking first in their respective events (200 yard IM, 200 yard backstroke and 200 yard butterfly).

The squad returns to action on Friday when they host St. Joseph's of Brooklyn at the North Pool at 6 p.m during Homecoming.
