New York, NY - Hunter College women's swimming fell to Adelphi University on Tuesday night with a close score of 54-41.
The Hawks are now 1-1 overall after defeating John Jay College in the first meet of the season.
The Purple and Gold started the night off with a win as the 200 yard medley relay team of
Kelly Xue,
Carla Canning,
Lindsey Pero and
Alexandra Rubiano placed first with a time of 2:00.57.
Hunter posted four second-place finishes in the next four events as
Amanda Iken took second in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 13:03.45. Freshman
Sera Knobler then took second in the 200 yard freetstyle and Pero placed second in the 50 yard freestyle.
Alexandra Rubiano posted a second-place finish for the Hawks in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:23.92 and then finished in the number two spot again in the 100 yard freestyle.Â
A highlight of the day was Pero's first-place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:04.10.
Carla Canning followed that up with a first-place performance of her own, winning the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.15.
The Hawks will return to action on Nov. 21 when they take on Queens College.
