Staten Island, NY - Hunter College women's swimming picked up its fourth straight win on Friday night, defeating the College of Staten Island 151-70.
The Hawks have only dropped one meet this season for a 5-1 overall record and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play with a record of 3-0.
The Purple and Gold started the meet off with a win in the 200 yard medley relays as the team of
Julia Mamone,
Carla Canning,
Lindsey Pero and
Alexandra Rubiano finished with a time of 2:02.41 to defeat the Dolphins by about seven seconds.
Freshman
Sera Knobler then dominated the field in the 1000 yard freestyle, placing first with a time of 11:31.84 for a new pool record at the Staten Island facility. Knobler followed up that performance with another win, posting a time of 2:08.65 in the 200 yard freestyle.
Rubiano and Pero combined for 18 points for the Hawks, both taking first in their respective events of the 200 yard IM and the 100 yard butterfly.
Kelly Xue added another Hunter victory in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.33, while Canning took first in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:12.40.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Hanaa Lacchab, Xue, Knobler and Rubiano wrapped up the meet for Hunter, earning a first-place finish with a time of 1:51.83.
The Hawks return to action on Jan. 3 when they host Brooklyn College at 6 p.m.
