Queens, NY - The Hunter College women's tennis team got back to action Saturday, April  9th, when they took on the Red Dragons Oneanta College. The Hawks were blanked in the singles portion, but took one of three doubles matches marking an 8-1 loss.  The Purple and Gold move to an even 7-7 overall, and 4-2 in CUNYAC.

In the top-flight doubles match, Olivia Funk and Catherine Ng kept it close throughout, but were eventually defeated 8-6. The lone victory on the day came at second flight doubles when Hunter's Sara Beck and Angelina Usherenko went down to the wire in a tiebreaker dual. After an 8-8 rout by both teams, the Hawks stayed tough to win 7-6 in the tiebreaker. 

Newly awarded head coach, Francis Ferdinand's squad, was tripped up in the singles portion. Funk kept close in #1 singles, ultimately losing however, 6-4, 6-4. The remaining Hawks couldn't pull out the victories against the Red Dragons.

Hunter will take on Yeshiva on Sunday, April 10.
