BOX SCORE New Haven, Conn. - Hunter College men's soccer fell in a close overtime thriller on Monday night to Albertus Magnus College with a score of 1-0.
The Hawks are now 1-3-1 overall this season.
After holding the Falcons to zero goals throughout the game, Hunter lost a heartbreaker in overtime as an Albertus Magnus player connected for a goal with four minutes remaining to get the win.Â
The Purple and Gold stayed with the Falcons during the first half, recording four shots that would not make it into the goal, but also preventing Albertus from taking a lead. Several more failed attempts would plague both teams, sending the game into overtime where the Falcons would eventually find the back of the goal six minutes in to get the victory.
Aiden Tucker recorded four shots for Hunter, while
Nico Sirena tallied two shots on goal.
Carlos Aspiazu,
Brandon Fiscina,
Bryan Suertegaray and
John Bautista would chip in, adding to Hunter's total of 11 shots during the game.
Oliver Pedraga played his first game of the season in goal for the Hawks, shutting out the Falcons for all of regulation and notching three saves.
Hunter will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 14 when they host St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn at 4 p.m.
