Swimming Wins Seventh-Straight With Victory Over St. Joseph's

Hawks Defeat Golden Eagles

New York, NY - Hunter College women's swimming won their seventh-straight meet on Tuesday night with a 52-39 victory over St. Joseph's College of Long Island.

The Hawks are 8-1 this season with their only loss to Division II opponent Adelphi University early this season.

Hunter posted six first-place finishes on the night with the 200 yard medley relay team of Gabrielle Oczos, Emily DiPaola, Alexandra Rubiano an Lindsey Pero starting it off with a time of 2:04.39.

Irene Collins then took first in the 1000 yard freestyle and Sera Knobler followed that up with a first-place performance in the 200 yard IM. Knobler posted another win, taking the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:42.95.

Kelly Xue finished off the meet by taking first in the 200 yard backstroke, scoring five points as Hunter defeated the Golden Eagles 52-39.

The Hawks return to action on Jan. 14 when they travel to Western Conncticut State in Danbury, CT.
