New York, NY - Hunter College women's swimming fell for just the second time this year against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday with a score of 58-37. The team celebrated its seven seniors in
Carla Canning, Emily DiPoala,
Amanda Iken,
Lindsey Pero,
Nancy Thong,
Alexia Donis and
Deborah Ramirez.
The Hawks are now 9-2 this season and continue to be undefeated in conference action.
Sera Knobler continued to lead the Hawks, placing first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.06. She then took second in the 500 yard freestyle to score three points for Hunter.
Canning was the Puple and Gold's other first-place finisher, taking the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.97.
The Hawks capped off the night with a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay as Pero,
Julia Mamone, Knobler and
Alexandra Rubiano finished with a time of 1:49.99.
The team returns to action on Jan. 23 when they travel to York College for a 6 p.m. meet.
