New York, NY - Hunter College women's swimming won their fifth-straight meet on Tuesday evening, defeating Brooklyn College 60-34 at the North Pool.
The Hawks have only dropped one meet this year and continue to be undefeated in conference play with a 4-0 record.
The night started off with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as the team of
Kelly Xue,
Carla Canning,
Lindsey Pero and
Alexandra Rubiano posted a time of 2:02.05.
Irene Collins picked up the first individual win of the night, placing first in the 1,000 yard freestyle. Rubiano then took first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:24.08, edging the competition by more than 20 seconds. She followed that up with a first-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle.
Sera Knobler, Xue and
Alexia Donis took the one, two and three spot, respectively, in the 400 yard IM, before Pero took the top spot in the100 yard butterfly.Â
Hunter finished off the meet with first-place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke, 500 yard freestyle and 200 yard breakstroke to secure the 60-34 victory.
The team returns to action on January 6 when they travel to Baruch College for a 6 p.m. contest.
