BOX SCORE Bronx, N.Y. - Hunter College women's volleyball got its tenth-straight win on Tuesday night in the defeat of the College of Mount Saint Vincent with scores of 25-9, 25-16, 20-25 and 25-21.
The Hawks improved to 21-3 this season while the Dolphins are now 14-8 overall.
The Purple and Gold started the match strong, taking a 19-3 lead in the first set to eventually win with a commanding score of 25-9. The Dolphins recovered in the second, keeping the score close until Hunter went on a 13-2 run to make the score 19-8. Kills from

Marlena Budna sparked the streak as the Hawks closed out the second with a score of 25-16.
Mount Saint Vincent took the early lead in the third, before the Hawks would tie it at 14. From there the Dolphins recorded three kills and service ace, helping them to gain a five-point advantage. The points went back-and-forth at the end of the set but it was too late for the Hawks to catch up as they fell, 25-20 to make the match score 2-1.
The Dolphins continued to hit well in the fourth set leading for the majority of the game until Hunter scored six-straight points to get a 17-15 edge. MSV tied it up and then took a one-point lead, but Hunter's offense went to work, scoring five-straight kills, featuring three from
Emily Wasson, to get back the lead.
Julia Connolly and Wasson closed out the set with kills to secure the 25-21 win and earn the 3-1 victory.
Wasson recorded 12 kills and just three errors in the win for a .333 hitting percentage, while Connolly followed with 11 kills of her own.
Miranda Hogan tallied 38 assists and
Haley Trunkett led the defense with a team-high 18 digs. Budna added six blocks on defense.
The Hawks held the Dolphins to a .000 hitting percentage.
Hunter women's volleyball returns to action on Thursday, October 19 when they host Medgar Evers College at 6 p.m.
