Bronx, NY - On Tuesday evening, the swimming and diving team remained perfect in CUNYAC action as they defeated the Lightning of Lehman College in a dominant 123-77 win. Overall, the squad posted five individual event winners while one relay took top honors in the APEX pool.

Starting off the meet, the quartet comprised of Julia Mamone, Virginia Anne Dundon, Hanaa Lacchab and Alexandra Rubiano took second place in the 200 yard medley relay, clocking in at 2:03.00, just .15 out of first and a season best. In the only other relay on the evening, Rubiano was joined by teammates Robin Marshall, Christina Valente and Sera Knobler as they out-swam the the competition by over seven seconds, clocking in at 1:54.87 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Individually, the Hawks impressed, beginning with Valente whose time of 13:13.94 in the 1000y freestyle was over 30 seconds faster than second place Robin Marshall who stopped the clock in 13:45.16. In the other distance event, Knobler tapped the wall over 12 seconds faster than her nearest competitor as she recorded a time of 5:51.54 in the 500y freestyle.

Rubiano had a strong showing in the 200y IM, dominating the field by nearly 12 seconds with a finishing time of 2:27.52 while Lacchab also won convincingly in the 100y butterfly in 1:09.18; over 10 seconds ahead of the runner up. Rounding out the final event winner was a victory by freshman Michelle Bzikot in the 100y breaststroke who turned in a time of 1:23.84.

The Hawks return to action on Monday, November 20 when they host the Knights of Queens College in the North Pool. First race is slated for a 6pm start.
