Garden City, N.Y. - Hunter College women's swimming faced a stiff test against Division II foe Adelphi University on Tuesday, but the team rose to the occasion, falling with a close score of 54-40. Despite a narrow loss, the team competed from start to finish and claimed numerous victories and in-season best times.
"Everyone is working hard and the results are starting to show," said first year head coach
Michael Kokoszka. "We have a smaller team than in past years, but what we lack in numbers we make up for in grit and support of one another."
Highlights of the meet included a pair of first place finishes in the 200 Free (2:08.15) and 100 Fly (1:05.34) by senior
Alexandra Rubiano.Â
The sophomore class stepped up and contributed valuable points. Sera Knobler (1000 Free), Virginia Anne Dundon (100 Breastroke) and Hanaa Lachhab (100 Fly) each earned second place finishes in their respective races.
