Women's Swimming Takes Down Dolphins, 59-36

Hawks Improve to 4-0 in CUNYAC

New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's swimming got a big win over the College of Staten Island on Monday night, defeating the Dolphins with a score of 59-36.

With the victory the Hawks improved to 6-2 this season and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play with a mark of 4-0.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Julia Mamone, Virginia Anne Dundon, Alexandra Rubiano and Kelly Xue started the night off with a win, posting a time of 2:06.92. Hunter' Sera Knobler then followed that up by taking first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:12.12), while Rubiano notched another win in the 100 yard butterfly (1:04.42). 

Mamone and Dundon finished it off for the Hawks, getting first-place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard breaststroke, respectively, to give Hunter 59 points and the victory.

The team returns to the pool on January 9 when they travel to St. Joseph's - L.I. for a 6:30 p.m. meet.
