Women's Swimming Defeats St. Joseph's Long Island

Hawks Post Seven First-Place Finishes

Patchogue, N.Y. - Hunter College women's swimming improved to 7-2 this season with a win over St. Joseph's College - Long Island on Tuesday night, defeating the Golden Eagles 107-71.

The Hawks are on a three-meet winning streak and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play with a 4-0 record.

Six different swimmers won their individual events with Sera Knobler leading the team by taking first in the 400 IM and 500 freestyle. Irene Collins placed first in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:24.07, while Katherine Lee earned a win in the 200 freestyle (2:19.70). Both were season bests.

Alexandra Rubiano took the 200 butterfly (2:28.53) and Grabrielle Oczos got a win in the 200 backstroke (2:24.24) to earn CUNYAC top times this season.

Freshman Virginia Dundon rounded out the Hunter wins by takin first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:42.056 for a season best mark.

The team returns to action on January 13 when they travel to Western Connecticut State.
