New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's swimming got a 60-28 win over the College of Staten Island on Friday evening to improve to 2-0 this season and start conference play with a victory.
The Hawks started the night with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as
Gabrielle Oczos,
Virginia Anne Dundon,
Molly Baran and
Katherine Lee took first with a time of 2:06.21.
Irene Collins followed that up by placing first in the 1,000 yard freestyle to score five points for the Purple and Gold. Hunter won the next three events as
Sera Knobler (200 yard freestyle),
Ariel Tsai (50 yard freestyle) and Lee (200 yard IM) all finished in the top spot to put the Hawks ahed of the Dolphins.
The team finished off CSI with wins in the 100 yard butterfly, 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke to get the victory.
The Hawks returns to the pool on November 13 when they host Lehman College at 6 p.m.
