Bronx, NY - The swimming and diving team grabbed their second straight win, and first victory in CUNYAC action, over Lehman College earlier this evening with a score of 111-69. The Hawks won eight individual events and took top honors in two relays.
Leading the meet was
Gabrielle Oczos,
Alexa Magsuci,
Sarah Betts and
Lydia Godman came together in the 200 yard medley relay to place first in a time of 2:09.91 which was nearly seven seconds better than the Hunter "B" team and over 10 seconds faster than Lehman's "A" team. Meanwhile, concluding the meet was quartet of
Virginia Anne Dundon,
Cloe Mueller, Betts and
Amina Dupljak combined for a time of 1:55.80 which was 28 seconds faster than Lehman.
Individually, the Hawks performed well with eight even winners.
Sarah Decker was the lone competitor in the 1000y free and clocked in with a time of 11:58 while Mueller edged teammate
Katherine Lee for first place in the 50 yard freestyle, 27.74 to 27.98.
Michelle Bzikot was the first to touch the wall in the 200 yard IM in a time of 2:46.73 while Dupljak was close behind in 2:47.51.
In the 100 yard butterfly, Godman came out on top in 1:13.53 while Lee clocked in at 1:02.35 in the 100 yard freestyle. Mueller was the final event winner after stopping the clock at 6:04.13 in the 500 yard freestyle.
The Purple and Gold will host their home opener on Monday, November 18 against Queens College. First swim is at 6pm.
