New York, NY – For the sixth straight season the women's volleyball team will compete in the NCAA tournament. They will face off against top seeded Trinity (TX) at Christopher Newport University on Friday, November 15. Hunter will be looking for the first NCAA tournament win in school history.
How They Got There
Hunter qualified for the NCAA tournament by winning the CUNYAC tournament for the sixth year in a row. The Hawks avoided a scare from CCNY in the semifinals with a four set win. Then in the finals the Hawks defeated the Brooklyn College Bulldogs in a 3-0 sweep to win the crown. The Hawks dominated the regular season in conference play with a record of 7-0. Coach
Alyssa Broccoli has never dropped a match in CUNYAC play over her four seasons.
Hawks to Watch
Hunter has been led all season by CUNYAC Tournament MVP and First-Team All Star
Kylie Hurst. The outside hitter leads the team in kills with 320 on the season as well as service aces (33) and was second on the team in digs with 344.
Leading the team defensively this season has been libero of the year
Sunghee Cho. She leads the team with 463 digs on the season and has recorded over 20 digs on 11 different occasions during the season. Cho will look to improve on her excellent play from last year in the NCAA tournament where she tied for the team lead in digs with 22.
Isabelle Lawrence and
Kendra Moore have been strong for the Purple in Gold in the middle. The two middles rank first and second in the conference in blocks per set. Lawrence leads the team in hitting percentage at .267 while Moore ranks second at .237.
NCAA Tournament History
The Hawks have made the tournament for the 14
th time this season, the most of any team in the CUNYAC. The Hawks look to win their first match in the NCAA tournament this season after losing a heartbreaker in five sets to Stevenson last season.
First Time Out
This is the first meeting between these two teams in program history.

Trinity has been led by conference player of the year Avery Tuggle who leads the team with 418 kills on the season. The Tigers have been efficient all season posting a .255 hitting percentage good enough for 8
