New York, NY - The women's swimming and diving team took care of business at the North Pool earlier this evening against John Jay. In the Hawk's second CUNYAC dual meet of the year, they defeated the Bloodhounds by a score of 61-27. The victory moves them to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC action.
Hunter bookended the meet with wins in each relay. To start the meet, the quartet of
Sarah Decker,
Virginia Anne Dundon,
Gabrielle Oczos and
Katherine Lee combined for a time of 2:00.20 in the 200 medley relay. Capping the meet was
Cloe Mueller,
Sarah Betts,
Samantha Helmy and Amina Dubljak coming together for a time of 1:54.97 in the 200 free relay.
Dupljak won the 1000 free with a time of 14:00.87 while
Chloe Gregoire took care of business in the 500 free, clocking in at 5:58.93. In the freestyle events, Mueller took home first place in the 100 and 200 free with respective times of 59.78 and 2:12.56 while
Julia Mamone out-swam the 50 free field with a time of 28.65.
The 200 IM was owned by
Alexa Magsuci in 2:51.70 while
Samantha Helmy took top honors in the 100 fly after touching the wall in 1:10.32.
Sarah Decker added a first place showing in the 100 back after clocking in at 1:07.39 while Dundon was the final individual event winner with a first place showing in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.95.
The swimming and diving team will break until the new year when they get back in action on January 3 to host Brooklyn College in the North Pool at 6pm.
