Purchase, N.Y. - Hunter College men's volleyball rolled to its ninth-straight victory on Wednesday with a win over Purchase College in three sets that featured scores of 25-10, 25-12 and 25-12.
The victory gave Hunter a 9-3 record, while the Panthers dropped to 2-8 this season.
After leading by just one point at the beginning of the first set the Purple and Gold went to work, outscoring the Panthers 15-2, including four kills from
Cyrus De Guzman to make the score 21-7. Kills from

Michael Jazgarski and
Qendrim Shala finished it off to get a 1-0 lead in the contest for the Hawks.
Hunter began to pull away in the second set after forcing five-straight Panther errors. The offense then took control of the match as
Blake Hogan, Shala and Jazgarski all registered kills to help the Hawks to a 19-7 advantage. De Guzman took the deciding kill to give the Purple and Gold a 25-12 win and 2-0 edge in the match.

Samuel Gibson sparked a Hunter streak as the Hawks scored the final seven points of the set to earn a commanding 25-12 win.
The Hawks recorded a successful hitting percentage of .444, while holding Purchase to a negative mark -.133.
Hogan led the team with 11 kills and a .600 hitting percentage. De Guzman, Jazgarski and Shala all added five kills apiece in the victory.
Alec Helford and
Sebastian Vargas split time as the setter, recording 16 and 11 assists, respectively.
Chris Scandole highlighted the defense with a team-high six digs.
The team returns to the court on Saturday, March 2 when they travel to a tri-match, hosted by Rutgers-Newark.
