New York, NY – On Friday evening, January 17^th, the swimming and diving team hosted Baruch College in the North Pool in their final meet before heading into the CUNYAC Championships. The Hawks (8-2, 5-0) won the meet, 64-31, and served Baruch their only conference loss of the year which secured them the CUNYAC Regular Season Title.
 
The win also marks the fifth straight season that they have been undefeated against CUNYAC opponents; 29 straight victories. The last time the swim team lost a CUNYAC dual meet was back on January 14, 2014 when they lost to Baruch, 61-34.
 
The Hawks won all but three of the 11 contested events. Opening the meet was the 200 yard medley relay in which Sarah Decker, Virginia Anne Dundon, Gabrielle Oczos and Cloe Mueller combined for a time of 1:58.44, winning handily and by over seven seconds to second place Baruch. Capping the meet was the 200 yard freestyle relay where Alice Tsai, Oczos, Mueller and Sera Knobler out-swam their counterparts by just greater than two seconds, clocking in at 1:47.48.
 
Knobler was a double event winner on the evening. She topped the field in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.54 and then dominated the 500 yard free with a time of 5:48.69, more than 30 seconds faster than second place.
 
In the 1000 yard free, Chloe Gregoire took the easy win with a time of 12:37.34 while Oczos came out on top in the 100 yard butterfly after posting a time of 1:05.09. Decker bested her challengers in the 100 yard backstroke after touching the wall in 1:04.72 while Dundon capped the event winners in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.20 which beat Baruch's second place finisher by nearly nine seconds.
 
The Hawks return to action on January 31 when they compete in day one of the three-day CUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships which is hosted by Lehman College in the Bronx.
