New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's volleyball team put on a show in their home trimatch this afternoon as they swept both opponents, starting the John Jay in the first match and CCNY in the second where they won 25-21, 25-17, 25-15. The Hawks remain undefeated in conference play with the win at 5-0 and 13-3 overall.
The Purple and Golds utilized its depth in the win, as 16 different Hawks saw playing time. As a team. Hunter racked up 62 digs and 44 kills in addition seven aces,
Rookie,
Bethany Tomaneng continued to impress as she accounted for more than half of the team's assists with 25. Aiding Hunter on the defensive line was libero,
Nadia Lau with a season high 19 digs. The senior also chipped in with a pair of aces and three assists.
At the net,
Mariam Ouattara and
Lily Mattison each had four block assists with Mattison also leading the offense with 11 kills.
The Hawks return to the court on Oct. 11 as they host local rival NYU in the Sportsplex.
