New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's swim team secured at 61-32 win over conference opponent John Jay to kick off CUNYAC competition.
Gwendolyn Posner and
Kiana Guarino led the team, each securing two first place finishes at the meet. Posner took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:24.67 as well as in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 6:47.95. Guarino's golds came in the 200-yard IM at 2:22.00 and the 100-yard butterfly where she finished in 1:05.23, just seconds ahead of
Nancy Leal who placed second (1:09.34).
Leal also secured a first place finish of her own in the 1000-yard freestyle, as she finished with a time of 13:04.65. In the women's 100-yard freestyle,
Cara Chang took first, clocking in at 1:01.72, followed by
Lian Winter at 1:05.92.
Germayne Chau rounded out five point finishes for the Hawks, with a time of 1:02.66 in the 100-yard backstroke.
