Hawks Collect 8 Golds in Win Over Brooklyn

Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's swimming team took home a conference win over Brooklyn College, 119-70 on the road.

As a team, the Hawks collected an impressive eight first place finishes in the meet. Cara Chang led with two golds, taking first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:34.74, and in the 100 yard freestyle, where she finished in 1:01.8. 

The 200 yard medley relay team also placed first, as Kiana Guarino, Lian Winter, Germayne Chau, and Kateryna Titarenko finished with a combined time of 2:02.70, Guarino and Chau each took home gold in individual races, with Guarino winning the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.67, and Chau taking the 200 yard IM in 2:28.91. Molly Nettles also placed first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:28.46, while Hailey Quiller rounded out winners for the Hawks as she clocked in at 1:16, for the top time in the 100 yard butterfly.

The Hawks continue their season on Jan. 20 at Kean University.
