Montclair, N.J.- The Hunter College women's swim team continued its season against Montclait State and College of Staten Island on Saturday, falling in both meets, at 155-84 against Montclair and 171-73 against CSI.
Germayne Chau once again, had a strong showing, placing fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.98 and sixth in the 50-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 36.12. Parvina Makhmadalieva placed seven in two events, finishing first in the 50-yard butterfly in 31.21 and the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:24.09.
Kateryna Titarenko competed hard in the 50-yard backstroke, finishing sixth with a time of 36.52, and also secured third in the 100-yard IM at 1:18.65.
In distance events,
Nayesha Krishna finished second with a time of 7:03.23 in the 500-yard free, while
Sera Aktas took fourth in the in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:44.21).
Hailey Quiller finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:31.77 and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 1:12.29.
In relays, the 200-yard medley team of Chau, Krishna, Quiller, and Titarenko place fourth with a time of 2:06.42, while the 200-yard free relay team (Krishna, Makhmadalieva, Aktas, and Quiller) delivered a close finish, placing second in 1:55.69.
The Purple and Gold looks to garner its first win as they open up conference competiton against Lehman on Nov. 13.
