Staten Island,  N.Y.- The Hunter College men's indoor track and field team showcased strong performances at the Wagner Invitational on Friday, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Hawks competed against a competitive field, delivering notable individual and team results, including several top marks in the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) division.

In the mile, Melvil Badier set the pace for the Hawks with a time of 4:37.45, earning 14th place overall and the top spot in the CUNYAC division.

Leonardo Kaplan excelled in the 3000 meters, clocking a time of 9:55.5, finishing 10th overall and securing the No. 2 rank in CUNYAC.

The 800 meters saw a strong Hunter contingent led by Conor Sullivan, who placed 18th overall with a time of 2:17.73, finishing first in CUNYAC. Angel Martinez followed in 20th place at 2:33.53 (4th in CUNYAC), while Paul Patino rounded out the event with a 21st-place finish at 2:38.53 (6th in CUNYAC).

In field events, Solomon Kumi delivered standout performances in both the long jump and triple jump. Kumi leaped 6.0 meters to take 11th overall and second in CUNYAC in the long jump. He also recorded a mark of 11.61 meters in the triple jump, finishing 6th overall and second in CUNYAC. Teammate Cedric Denis added a 14th-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 5.72 meters, ranking fourth in the conference.

The Hawks' 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Hamza Elsherbiny, Conor Sullivan, Jocsan Crespo, and Solomon Kumi, clocked a time of 3:46, securing 7th place overall and the second-best time in CUNYAC.

Hunter College looks to build on this performance as they prepare for upcoming meets in the indoor track and field season.
