ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's cross country team competed at the NCAA DIII Niagara Regional hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday morning.
Six from Hunter ran in the men's 8k race, led by conference Runner of the Year,
Mateo Penafiel, with a time of 28:09.8. He was followed by City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Rookie of the Year,
Brian Arias, who crossed the tape in 28:3.0. All-conference selections Jack Tracher and
Hengzhi Zhu followed with respective times of 30:01.51 and 20:15.6. Rookie,
Robert Liang Xu crossed the tape in 31:22.3, while
Harrison Abarca rounded out runners for the Hawks with his time of 33:54.6.
After a successful 2025 season, the Hawks look to start their indoor track and field season in the coming weeks.
