RAMAPO, N.J.- The Hunter College women's swim team traveled to Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon for a dual meet. Despite the Hawks' 168-77 lost, multiple swimmers posted career-best times in the meet.
Grace Valette once again led the Hawks, securing Hunter's only gold medal of the day, with a time of 1:03.50 in the 100-yard backstroke. She also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle, with a career-best time of 55.86. Additionally Valette was part of both of Hunter's relay teams. In the 200-yard medley relay, she teamed up with
Lian Winter,
Hailey-Madison Quiller, and
Lily Bradshaw for a team time of 2:01.31 to place second. Hunter's 200-yard freestyle relay team composed of Valette, Quiller,
Cara Chang, and Bradshaw earned another silver for the Hawks, posting a total time of 1:48.14.
Bradshaw placed second in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 27.87. Imani Chilsolm also swam the 50-free, posting a career-best time of 32.15. In the 200-yard breaststroke
Gwendolyn Posner finished third for Hunter for a personal-best time of 3:09.91, while Chisolm also recorded a career-best of 3:33.49, well ahead of her previous best time of 3:47.15.
Molly Nettles represented the Hawks on the podium in long-distance events, with career-best time of 13:18.09, to take third.
Hunter returns to the pool on Nov. 16 at SUNY Maritime.
