FLUSHING, N.Y.- The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its weekly awards winners for women's swimming, with Hunter earning both player and rookie accolades following the team's season opening week.
Lily Bradshaw impressed in her first week in the pool, earning the Rookie of the Week title. In the season opening dual meet at Kean, Bradshaw Kean placed third in the 50-freestyle with her time of 27.42, as well is fifth in the 100-free, clocking in at 1:02.69. The next day in a tri-meet against CSI/Pace she swam for 2:22.31 in the 200-free and recorded a time of 1:04.39 in the 100-freestyle race.
Grace Valette was tabbed Swimmer of the Week after she led Hunter in a dual meet at Kean, where the freshman placed second in the 200-free with her time. The next day, in a tri-meet against CSI and Pace, she took first in the 500-free with her time of 5:45.54, and second in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:05.11. Additionally she was part of the fourth place 200-medley relay and the 400-freestyle relay with respective team times of 2:10.06 and 4:02.56.
The Hawks return to the pool on Nov. 6 at John Jay for their first conference meet.
