BOX SCORE NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Hunter College men's volleyball team (18-10, 11-2 CUNYAC) turned in a sharp, all-around performance on Thursday night at the Hunter Sportsplex, sweeping Brooklyn College (13-16, 8-5 CUNYAC) in straight sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-14) to punch their ticket to the CUNYAC Finals. The Hawks executed efficiently on both sides of the ball and never let the Bulldogs find a rhythm, securing a spot in Friday's championship showdown.
Ahmed Mohamed delivered another standout performance with a match-high 15 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, adding two service aces and 11 digs to lead the Hawks in all phases. Annes Deljanin contributed six kills and a team-best seven blocks, while Kyle Foley tallied six kills and hit .278. Lucas George provided a spark off the bench with four kills, two aces, and four block assists, and Wesley Stubbs ran the offense with 28 assists, five total blocks, and a service ace.
Admir Cekic added three kills, a service ace, and three blocks, while Crisostomo Ibarra and Nick Yao anchored the back row with a combined 13 digs. Wyatt Kotuk and Charlie Alvarez also saw action, with Kotuk recording a kill and a block assist in the final frame.
Hunter hit .250 as a team and finished with 13 total team blocks, holding Brooklyn to a -.033 hitting percentage. The Hawks never trailed in the third set and served up six aces with just six errors to maintain pressure throughout.
The Hawks return to the court Friday, April 11, for the 2025 CUNYAC Championship match against top-seeded Baruch College. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex.
