NEW YORK — The Metropolitan Swimming and Diving Conference announced its 2025 All-Academic Team, with Parvinabonu Mahkmadalieva of the Hunter College swim team earning her first career selection.
The sophomore psychology major currently holds a 3.1 cumulative GPA. She also earned All-Star honors this season after helping lead the Hawks to their fifth consecutive CUNYAC Championship as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team. Alongside fellow All-Stars Cara Chang, Mia Chang, and Germayne Chau, the group earned a silver medal with a time of 9:10.09.
At the 2025 Metropolitan Collegiate Championships, Mahkmadalieva competed in six events for the Purple and Gold. She placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:54.01 and finished eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:20.72. In the 500-yard freestyle, she posted a ninth-place finish with a time of 6:06.03.
The Uzbekistan native also competed on three of Hunter's relay teams. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, she joined Kateryna Titarenko, Mia Chang and Hailey-Madison Quiller to earn a sixth-place finish in 1:52.38. She secured another sixth-place result in the 200-yard medley relay, teaming up with Anastasiia Lyshyk, Gwendolyn Posner and Quiller for a time of 2:09.09. Mahkmadalieva rounded out her championship performance with the 400-yard freestyle relay team, finishing sixth in 4:23.46 alongside Titarenko, Posner and Brielle Rennes.
Mahkmadalieva's All-Academic honor highlights her continued dedication both in the pool and in the classroom, as she emerges as a key contributor to the Hawks' championship legacy.
