NEWBURGH, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's cross country team placed third overall at the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational on Sunday.
Hunter placed third of six teams behind St. Thomas Aquinas in first and Dominican College in second. Borough of Manhattan Community College took fourth, while the College Mount Saint Vincent and Hostos Community College placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
Hengzhi Zhu earned a top-10 finish in the men's 8k race, recording a conference-best 29:12.1. Freshman,
Jack Treacher was Hunter's next finisher, in 12th out of 57 total finishers with a time of 30:58.3. Also in the top-20 for the Hawks were
Brian Arias (32:48.2) and
Robert Liang Xu (33:00.8).
Competing in their first race of the season, was
Harrison Abarca, who crossed the tape in 38:00.6, and
Paul Patino (38:51.5).
Keith Sun made his collegiate debut at the meet with a time of 44:56.0.
The Hawks return to action on Sept. 20 at the Fred Pavlich Invitational hosted by Bard.
