BROOKLYN, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's swim team earned a 129-74 road victory over Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon.
Hunter captured gold in both relay events, while Lian Winter and Grace Valette each grabbed two individual first-place finishes in the meet. Molly Nettles and Parvinabonu Makhmadalieva also added individual gold medals to aid in the team's win.
The Hawks opened the meet as Anastasiia Lyshyk, Makhmadalieva, Annie Huang, and Cara Chang teamed up to take first in the 200-yard medley relay with a combined time of 2:21.69.
Nettles added nine more points for the Hawks in the longest event of the day, taking first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 13.33.59. Also in the distance events, Makhmadalieva earned her individual title in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 6:41.02, followed in second by Natasha Krishna, who touched the wall in 7:20.6.
Valette earned her first individual gold medal of the day in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.09, while Mahkmadalieva finished second at 2:29.49.
Valettes next individual win came in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:05.2. She was followed by Lyshyk (1:13.87) and Hailey-Madison Quiller (1:23.04) as the Hawks swept the podium.
In the 200-yard IM, Winter placed first in 2:37.22, while Lyshyk earned another medal by finishing third with a time of 2:45.45.
Winter earned another first-place finish immediately after in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 1:09.51. The Purple and Gold once again filled the podium, with Quiller taking second at 1:16.27, followed by Huang in third at 1:19.96.
In the sprint events, Lily Bradshaw took home a silver medal in the 50-yard freestyle (27.41), followed by Krishna in third (31.97). Freshman Imani Chisolm was less than one second away from the podium, placing fourth in 32.38.
Chang earned a pair of silver medals to close out the individual events. She first placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.81, followed by Bradshaw with a this place title in 1:01.31. Chang then recorded a time of 1:21.70 in the 100-yard breaststroke to place second, followed by Nettles (1:31.57) and Chisolm, who again just missed the podium at 1:34.61.
The Hawks closed out the meet with another first-place relay finish, this time in the medley relay, as Valette, Winter, Quiller, and Bradshaw recorded a team time of 1:49.63.
Hunter returns home on Jan. 12 to celebrate its annual Senior Night against Baruch at 6 p.m.
