Hunter Named Regular Season Champions Following Dominant Win Over York

QUEENS, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's swim team was crowned City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Regular Season Champions, following a dominant 105-7 win over York College on the road on Thursday evening, concluding its undefeated conference season.

Hunter dominated across the board, earning first place in both relays. In individual events, several Hawks took first place in all of their events, accounting for 18 individual points each in veteran Winter Lian and newcomers Grace Valette, and Lily Bradshaw.

Lian earned first in the 100m backstroke, clocking in at 1:32.62, as well as in the 200m IM, with a time of 2:59.45.

Valette took home gold in the 800m freestyle, as she touched in the wall in 9:55.88, before earning another first place finish in the 100m freestyle with her time of 1:03.67.  

Bradshaw's speed was on full display, topping the podium in the 200m freestyle (2:35.18), and the 100m backstroke (1:19.72). 

Rookie Annie Huang had an impressive day in the pool, earning 13 individual points to contribute to the win. She placed first in the 100m butterfly with her time of 1:28.63, before earning silver in the 50m freestyle (32.31).

The Hawks will return to the pool on Jan. 30 for the CUNYAC Championships at Lehman College, as they look to repeat as champions.
