BRONX, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's swim team continued to lead through the second day of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships, picking up three more individual titles in addition to a relay.
Cara Chang claimed the individual champion title in the 400yd IM, touching the wall in 5:24.32, she was followed by her sister, Mia Chang, less than a second behind, as she claimed second in 5:24.32. Nayesha Krishna also added points for the Purple and Gold in the event with a sixth place finish (6:26.58).
C. Chang led Hunter on the day, adding another first place finish in the 200yd freestyle with her time of 2:11.26. Gwendolyn Posner also scored in the event in fifth (2:27.88).Â
C. Chang added her third gold of the day, this time in the 800yd freestyle relay, where she teamed up with M. Chang, Grace Valette, and Lian Winter, for a team time of 8:46.76.Â
Valette grabbed her second individual title of the meet in the 100yd backstroke, clocking in at 1:02.84. Fellow standout freshman, Lily Bradshaw took home bronze finishing in 1:08.84, while Anastasiia Lyshyk clocked in at 1:11.79 landing additional points for Hunter in the race.
Winter grabbed a silver medal in the 100yd butterfly at 1:06.45, followed by Hailey-Madison Quiller in fourth (1:11.86), and Annie Huang in seventh (1:16.24).
Parvinabonu Makhmadalieva and Imani Chisholm rounded out individual scoring for the day, in the 100yd breaststroke finish in fifth and seventh, respectively.Â
The 200yd medley relay team of Bradshaw, Quiller, Winter, and M. Chang, added a second place finish, with a combined time of 2:02.88.
The Hawks return to the pool for the final day of the meet, as they look to claim their sixth consecutive title.
