EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Hunter College men's indoor track and field team delivered a strong showing Sunday at the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University.
The Hawks highlighted the meet with an impressive 1–2 finish in the men's mile.
Hengzhi Zhu captured first place in 5:04.68, while Robert Liang-Xu followed closely behind with a second-place finish in 5:14.98.
Solomon Kumi continued his standout season, posting the top marks among CUNYAC athletes in three events. Kumi cleared 1.78 meters in the high jump, recorded a 5.93-meter mark in the long jump and clocked a 9.09 in the 55-meter hurdles, narrowly missing podium finishes in each event.
Dylan Asuncion added to Hunter's strong performance with a triple jump mark of 12.34 meters, the top distance among CUNYAC competitors and good for a fourth-place finish overall.
Freshman
Amdane Idrissou contributed with two top-10 finishes, recording marks of 8.98 meters in the shot put and 6.89 meters in the weight throw.
The Hawks will continue their season at the Garden State Open Invitational at the Armory in New York City on Feb. 20.
