Allentown, PA – Senior guard
Emiljano Kinaj (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) tied a game high 19 points in his Hunter debut, but his efforts wouldn't be enough as Hunter falls to Muhlenberg College 77-59 at the Scotty Wood Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg in Allentown, PA.
Despite the final score, the Hawks trailed by just two points at the end of the first half, 30-28 and held a one point lead, 34-33 a little under two minutes into the half. However, the Mules regained the lead on the next play and never trailed the rest of the game.
Muhlenberg had three players finish in double-digits, led by junior forward
Ryan Foster (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) who finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for the Mules were junior center
Peter Barnes (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) who had the team's only double-double with 18 points and 13 boards, while junior forward
Obi Nwizugbo (Roselle, NJ/Union Catholic) added 13 points in the victory.
Hunter had two other individuals finish in double-digits with senior guard
Nicholas Flagg (Queens, NY/Cardozo) scoring 13 points and senior forward
Frantz Millien (Rockland, NY/North Rockland) finishing with 10 points and ten rebounds.
Hunter will now face Colby College in the consolation game on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Colby lost to Marymount 65-53 on Friday.
