Bronx, NY – Senior
Jennifer Damroth hit a three RBI triple that capped off a nine-run third inning that would lead to a 12-4, five-inning victory in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader against Saint Joseph's College Tuesday evening at Murphy field on the campus of Fordham University.
In the second game, the Hawks opened up with a three-run first inning and closed out with a seven-run sixth inning that was charged by a two-run home run by sophomore outfielder
Christina Baker to open the inning to take a 15-7 victory in six innings.
Senior
Nicole Grilli started both games on the mound for the Hawks, pitching a total of 10.1 innings, striking out three batters and allowing eight earned runs. Freshman
Lauren Stensland picks up her first career save, relieving Grilli in the top of the sixth inning.
Sophomore short stop
Megan McKenna also had a big day for the Hawks, hitting 3-of-6 with three runs batted in, four runs scored and hit a big three run homer in the second game. Baker finished the day with six hits, in nine at bats and four runs batted in.
Hunter will be back in action later this week, traveling to Upper Montclair, NJ for a non-conference doubleheader with Montclair State University starting at 3:30 p.m.
