Bronx, NY - The Hawks were back in action on Wednesday, March 30, taking on their second conference foe of the season, the Lehman Lightning. Hunter proved to be impressive in both contests, sweeping the double-header by scores of 19-2 and 18-4.
Last week's CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week, Angel Iacovetti received the start for the Hawks in the first game. After both teams exchanged zeroes over the first two innings, the Hawks finally broke through against Lehman in the third, plating six of their 19 runs.
Having been given the lead, Iacovetti continued to shut down Lehman's offense, throwing another scoreless inning in both the third and fourth. The Hawks' offense meanwhile, never let up, scoring six more in the fourth and seven in the top of the fifth. Lehman finally plated their first run in the bottom of the inning, bringing two home for a 19-2 lead, which would also be the final.

In addition to giving up just two runs, none of which were earned with 13 strikeouts in her five innings of work, Iacovetti also contributed on offense with a 2-3 day including three RBIs and two runs scored. She is leading the Hawks' pitching staff with a 1.00 earned run average, having given up just 17 runs, only six earned, in 54 innings, while striking out 73. Opponents are batting just .184 against her.
In the second match-up of the afternoon, the Hawks picked up right where they left off in game one, plating three runs in the first inning off of two hits and two errors.
Lehman got one of the runs back in the bottom of the inning, scoring an unearned run against the Hawks' game two starter, Amanda Annicaro.
The Hawks offense got back to work in the second, never letting up throughout the remainder of the game, scoring six in the second and third, and three more in the fourth.
Lehman on the other hand, was only able to come away with three more runs against Annicaro, all of which came in the third inning.
In five innings of work, Annicaro gave up just four runs, only one of which was earned, on four hits, while striking out five to improve her record to 2-1.
