BRONX, NY -
The rival Baruch Bearcats defeated the Hunter College softball team 4-3 in an extra inning thriller before topping the Hawks, 6-1 in the second game in today's doubleheader at Lehman College.

Baruch improves to 12-16 overall and 8-2 in the CUNYAC with today's wins while Hunter drops to 11-19 overall and 7-3 in the league.

Baruch responded however, winning the game on a Hawk error which enabled two runners to score in the bottom of the eighth.

Briana Kresback, Meehan and Estevez each finished with two hits and an RBI apiece while Maxwell added an RBI.

Game two played out much differently as Baruch struck first, tallying runs in the second, third and fourth innings to push ahaed, 3-0.

The Hawks scored a run atop the fifth thanks to a RBI single from Angel Iacovetti to make it 3-1 but Baruch added three runs in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 6-1 ballgame and push Hunter out of reach.

Iacovetti (6-7) suffered the loss in game one while Amanda Annicaro (3-4) took the loss in game two.

Hunter will host John Jay on Tuesday, April 17 at 3pm at Randall's Island #12.
