Salisbury, MD – On Saturday, March 9, the Hunter College Softball team rounded out their final two games of the Salisbury Tournament. After falling to Lynchburg in five by a score of 11-0, they then fell victim to an 8-0 shutout against Geneseo.
Lynchburg
The Hawks were held hitless in the five-inning affair as Lynchburg led 3-0 heading into the fifth. However, an eight-run affair in the top of the frame brought an early end to the game as the Hawks were unable to get a run in the bottom of the inning to end the game 11-0.
Geneseo
In a similar situation as the previous game, the Hawks found themselves down 3-0 as they headed into the bottom of the fifth. In a late rally, Geneseo put five across the plate to end the game in the game after that by a score of 8-0.
Sophia Ponce,
Meghan O'Shea and Briana Lombardo were the only players to register a hit in the loss while
Amanda Annicaro and Sara Beck split the action on the mound. Annicaro allowed two runs on one hit in three innings of work while Beck tossed one and two thirds inning to allow six
